Ages and Participation- Phase 5

Biological Age: Post Puberty (After Growth Spurt)

Age: Girls 12-16  |  Boys 14-17

Training Age: 6-11 years in sport

Participation: Ski 4-5 days a week, 120 days a year. At least 15% free skiing. Play complementary sports.

Competition Period: November- April

Number of Race Starts: 25-45 max

Race to Training Ratio: 1:4

Ages vary in this development phase. To be in this phase, the growth spurt has slowed considerably and the skier has been involved in skiing for 6-11 years. The difference in timing for the growth spurt and puberty can vary by as much five or six years.
