Alpine Programs

Alpine Coaches Education

The USSA Sport Education Department offers education to alpine ski coaches in the form of coaches clinics, conferences and academies, on-line courses, live web presentations, manuals and educational DVDs, and through Center of Excellence TV, a video learning center. Certified coaches are required to complete continuing education every two years in order to keep their certification status current.

"When you've stopped learning, you're through." - Coach John Wooden

Coaches clinics are conducted in person with on-snow and classroom components. They follow the USSA coaches certification track starting with Alpine Skiing Fundamentals and advancing to specialized training in each discipline and sport science topics related to alpine ski racing delivered at National Coaches Academies. Several on-line courses are available on a variety of topics that make up part of the requriement for coaches certification as well as providing easily accessible continuing education opportunities for coaches. Learn more about these courses here.

USSA offers live web presentations and recorded presentations from USSA High Performance staff and coaches and other sport experts specifically geared toward club coaches. Check them out here.
