BIOGRAPHY
Ben Ferguson is one of those prodigy riders who astound the snowboarding scene with his skills and progression. He got his start at nine when Burton signed him to its Smalls Team. He's since graduated to the older pack of Burton riders, but he's no less progressive with his halfpipe and slopestyle capabilities. Ferguson made his mark in 2010 with a halfpipe win at the final Rev Tour stop of the season, and he stepped it up again in 2011 with a 10th-place-finish in slopestyle at the Mammoth Grand Prix stop. Ferguson kept his momentum with an incredible 2012 season to land gold in halfpipe and silver in slopestyle at inaugural Youth Olympic Games.

BEN SAYS
I think I had a pretty good season; I did well at some higher up contests. I had some accomplishments this year that I am psyched about. There were definitely times where I wanted to do better, but it’s always that way. I am looking forward to learning new tricks and placing higher and going to more contests next season.

FIRST TRACKS
Thanks in large part to his father's passion for riding; Ferguson was six years old when he first got on a snowboard. A sticker on the front of his board showed him which side was supposed to face downhill, and after some initially trying moments, he was hooked.

OFF THE SNOW
When Ferguson is off the slopes he enjoys hanging out with friends, skateboarding, going to the lake or the river, fishing and drawing.
