      BIOGRAPHY
Iowa grown Brett Esser hails from the hills of Dubuque, but a move to Breckenridge, CO has bumped him to the category of all-around riding phenomenon. Despite his age, 19, Esser has managed stellar finishes in both halfpipe and slopestyle. In 2010, Esser made huge waves with a first-place finish at the Burton Canadian Open. The following year, he took third in slopestyle at the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain, CA and was unfortunately sidelined with injury for the 2012 season.

      BRETT SAYS
Well, with the injury I had in October I was really proud of getting strong again to be able to close out the snowboard season for a couple of months, while learning tricks and feeling good on the board. Looking forward to next season, I’m really focusing on getting strong this summer and snowboarding, to learn a few new tricks.

      FIRST TRACKS
Esser learned to ride the way many a younger sibling does - with the guidance of his older brother who just happened to be a snowboard instructor at Esser's local hill in Iowa. According to Esser, he wanted to follow his brother's footsteps everywhere, and snowboarding was no exception. It took a day, but Esser was hooked for life.

      OFF THE SNOW
When Esser isn't on the snow he can be found on a skateboard, fishing, hiking, camping, and hanging out with his friends as much as possible before the snow falls for the next season.
