The Audi Ski Challenge is a ski racing competition that brings together local ski racing fans in support of Audi and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. Each event is held at a domestic U.S. Ski Team event and is open to the public. The top two winners from each stop will win an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime trip to race with the U.S. Ski Team at the U.S. Alpine Championships.

We had a great turn out for the Audi Ski Challenge race in Vail, Colorado and had some great races. Rules

The Audi Ski Challenge is a dual giant slalom race with each competitor racing both the red and blue course. Racers without a bib will not be allowed to race.

The two winners (one male and one female) will be determined from the best time of his/her best run. The fastest two times will win the grand prize. The winners must be present at the awards to receive details of their prize.

Prizes

Audi and the U.S. Ski Team will award the following prizes to the top two winners from Vail, Aspen, Beaver Creek, and Squaw Valley:

  • Official 2012/13 Ski Team Jacket
  • Three night lodging at the U.S. Alpine Championships (March 2024, 2013)
  • VIP experience provided by the U.S. Ski Team
    • VIP pass—Three days of skiing, access to all VIP functions
    • Including early lift access to ski with U.S. Ski Team athletes
    • Meet and greet with the 2012/13 U.S. Alpine Ski Team
    • VIP gift bag

Each winner will be allowed to bring one guest to the U.S. Alpine Championships. For the official rules, click here.

Please note that the majority of these events are held early season. All events are subject to changes because of lack of snow. Please stay tuned for changes.

11:30–11:50 a.m.   

Inspection

12:00–1:00 p.m.

1st run Secret Race (53 minutes for 160 racers at 20 second intervals)

Order determined by USSA point order, then by random according to class

1:15 p.m.                    

2nd run Secret Race

1:30–2:15 p.m.      

Audi registration and bib pickup at Gold Park Lodge

2:30–2:45 p.m.            

Audi VIP Handicap

3:00 p.m.                     

1st Run Audi Ski Challenge

3:30 p.m.                     

2nd Run Audi Ski Challenge
