Request for Certificate of Insurance - updated for 2011-12 season Global Rescue Offers Worldwide Service for Club AthletesAs a USSA club, you know that skiing and snowboarding are thrilling, fast-paced action sports that are exciting to partake in and watch. However, with as much fun as these sports can be, they involve risks every time an athlete takes to the snow. The USSA has teamed up with Global Rescue to provide superior medical attention to USSA athletes anywhere in the world. Global Rescue has made its mission to provide the highest quality medical consultation, transportation, security and other critical services for their members anytime, anywhere in the world with transportation to any domestic hospital. The USSA would like to extend this service to its valuable clubs. Over the past year, four USSA athletes have been evacuated from various locations around the globe back to the states through the Global Rescue network. In one instance, a USSA athlete who was not a Global Rescue member needed immediate medical attention and evacuation after a severe crash. Global Rescue recognized this critical situation and supplied their services to this non-Global Rescue member athlete. It was clear to see the medical needs of the athlete in a crisis situation were top priority to Global Rescue over an existing membership. Membership fees for this truly priceless service cover an entire year for one payment of $329 per athlete. Special student rates for high school, college and grad students are available for $259 per year. That includes sending U.S. doctors to the destination of the athlete in need, aligning coordination of the evacuation back to the U.S., and providing on-the-spot medical attention to the athlete. These services, which can run hundreds of thousands of dollars, come at no further cost past the membership fee to the athletes. The USSA strongly supports this service, as member clubs and the USSA have been able to remove athletes from dangerous situations and back into in the hands of domestic emergency care staff quickly and efficiently. USSA members please enter or mention CDC code US99870 for a 5% discount and a donation to USSA. Click here for more information on Global Rescue or call 800.381.9754.
