The USSA Junior Olympic program is celebrating it's 41st year of sustained competition programming. The Junior Olympics are recognized and endorsed by the U.S. Olympic Committee and have been sponsored by USSA as the premier junior championship tournament since the mid 1970s. Virtually all of our Olympic and World Champions have participated in the USSA Junior Olympic program.
Athletically, the Junior Olympics is often the launch pad for junior athletes to achieve results and performance standards to gain invitations to US Ski Team training camps or US Ski Team international competition opportunities. The Junior Olympics provide a perfect performance marker for young athletes who are emerging. In many cases, Junior Olympic medals will provide automatic advancement to higher-level competition.
The success of the Junior Olympics as the USSA showcase of junior competition is due to the USSA Member Clubs who take on the responsibility of hosting these important championship tournaments. The Clubs provide the venues, the officials, the volunteers, the financial resources and the infrastructure to produce the USSA Junior Olympics.
