2007 Medical Emergencies in Skiing and Snowboarding Conference

Vail Valley Medical Center and the Beaver Creek Resort again play host to this year's presentation of the USSA Medical Emergencies in Skiing and Snowboarding (MESS) Conference.  The 2007 MESS Conference will present concepts for evaluation of traumatic emergencies in elite level ski and snowboard competitions, event medical support systems for World Cup Events in skiing and snowboarding at international venues, and management of common medical conditions of the elite ski and snowboard athlete. Outdoor practical training scenarios are taught Sunday and Monday afternoons on the Bird’s of Prey Downhill Ski Course to review the skills taught in the classroom .  Observation of the US Ski Team Men’s Alpine athletes’ training runs on the Birds of Prey Downhill Ski Course is scheduled for Tuesday morning, weather permitting.

Conference Date: November 24-27, 2007
Location: The Pines Lodge, Beaver Creek, Colorado
Arrival & Opening reception: Saturday, November 24, Reception at 6:00 pm
Depart: after 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 27 or Wednesday, November 28
Conference Fee: $495 per Physician, $275 per Physical Therapist, $225 per Athletic Trainer

Attendance is limited and is by invite only to the USSA Medical Pool.
