To assure that your membership is processed for inclusion on any list, your membership materials must be received by USSA at least seven days prior to a closing date. Registrations are not considered received until they are complete. It is the athlete’s responsibility to ensure that his or her USSA and/or FIS membership registration is received; you can contact USSA member services (435.647.2666) to check the status of your application.
To compete in a USSA Sanctioned Event, an athlete must be a member of USSA.
To compete in a FIS Sanctioned Event, an athlete must be a Competitor member of USSA and have a FIS number by being inscribed with FIS. Athletes who inscribe with FIS will only receive their FIS number and be able to compete in FIS events at the valid date of the next FIS List.
USSA and FIS points are not continually being updated; they are recalculated for each new list. For more information on how points are calculated, see chapter 2 of your USSA Snowboard Competition Guide.
This page provides access to download USSA and FIS points lists, as links to files on the ftp site. These files require either proprietary scoring software for use or third-party software applications for unzipping or viewing.
If you are using the files in approved scoring software, the software will open and extract the information you need. You can download the USSA list directly into Split Second, but you can not download the FIS list directly into the software at this point in time . If you want to view the data in another application (i.e. Excel, Quatro) you will first need to "unzip" the file. We suggest WinZip, which you can download by clicking here. We suggest installing the "Classic" version of WinZip. Some of the files require the use of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. you can download this utility by clicking here.
To save files to your computer, depending upon your web browser, you should do one of the following:
- Using your mouse, point to the file name, press the right mouse button and then choose "Save As..."
- Point to the file name and press the left mouse button and save.
In either case, be sure to note where you saved the file to on your computer.
There are two ways to view and print the FIS points list: (a.) with the FIS software MYSQL, download here:
ftp://ftp.fisski.ch/Software/Readme.pdf OR (b.) in excel by dowloading the FIS point list through the link from the USSA website, or by following this link,
ftp://ftp.fisski.ch/Snowboard/Pointslists/ click on the current season then open the “old list version,” and click on the winzip file “sbfia” and with the latest list number. This will provide you with three more options, open the “sbara” file with the latest list number. This document will open in excel and you can then re-order and eliminate information as you deem necessary (ex: arranging by nation and then by name alphabetically for just U.S. and Canada, deleting columns with disciplines that don’t apply to your event).
*Note, to insert the FIS list into the PGS excel workbook, you will need the old list version, for simply looking up and verifying points, MYSQL is highly recommended.
