CHAUX-NEUVE, France (Jan. 15) – Olympic champion Billy Demong (Vermontville, NY) fought from over a minute deficit to ski with the lead pack and finish sixth Sunday. The result is his best World Cup finish since posting fourth in Chaux-Neuve in 2010, just before winning gold at the Olympic Winter Games. Teammate Johnny Spillane (Steamboat Springs, CO) was just behind in eighth, securing his season best result to close out the weekend. Italy's Alessandro Pittin proved undefeatable as he swept the third and final World Cup of the weekend.

QUOTES
Dave Jarrett, Nordic Combined Head Coach

Billy and Johnny were right there. You have to be in that position to do it. It was a fight for second. The level of cross country is quite a bit higher and it's hard to get away – this course made it hard to get separation.

It was a positive weekend for Nick and Taylor. Really good jumping by Taylor this weekend. We know he's there on both sides and we just know it's a matter of putting it together in the comps.

We're going to train at home now for 10 days. Nick, Brett [Denney] and Taylor will go to Continental Cup next week.

We had a great weekend, we like it here. The crowds are great. We wish every weekend could be like in Chaux-Neuve.
