Club Excellence Conference

The sixth annual USSA Club Excellence Conference will be held on May 14-15, 2013, at the Park City Marriott in Park City, UT.

The USSA Club Excellence Conference is designed for USSA club leaders. Topics cover ski and snowboard club management, organization, leadership, operational and athletic programming areas. Scheduled just before the USSA Congress meetings, this educational event is a valuable addition and allows club leaders to also participate in the sport meetings where USSA rules, regulations and programming are discussed.

"You Want Me To Do What?" - Tom Avischious, USA Swimming
The USA swimming team dazzled in London this summer, with a new wave of young athletes grabbing the headlines while their highly decorated veteran made his final performances. As an individual sport based in local clubs that becomes mainstream during the Olympics every four years, there are many parallels with skiing and snowboarding. Tom Avischious, the Field Services Director for USA Swimming in his 18th year with the organization oversees the club development of its over 2,800 clubs. Over the past ten years, his innovative work has led to many a program that leads clubs to often ask, "you want me to do what?" Tom will share how recognition of clubs, leadership and business management, and other programs instituted by USA Swimming have directly impacted the success of all types of member clubs and relate these lessons learned to ski and snowboarding clubs.
