2012 Was Magical Season
The 2012 season was a magical year. Seasons like this don’t just happen. In fact, none of this would have happened without the support and dedication of USSA leaders and volunteers nationwide. It’s a season for all of us to celebrate. But we also have to ask ourselves, how do we get better?
Last week we came together as a snowsport community at the 2012 USSA Congress. I want to take this time to thank those who attended for their participation and continued innovation at this year's meetings.
It is because of your participation in meetings like these that our sports continue to grow and progress. This is the same support that promotes the athletic excellence of our athletes at all level.
USSA Congress and the Club Excellence Conference have always been an outstanding platform to bring together leaders in every aspect of our sports to work together as a team to create the best environment for our athletes to succeed – this year was no exception.
As legendary NBA coach Pat Riley said, “Excellence is not a destination, it’s a process that must continually be improved.” We got to Best in the World because we focused on that. Now, how do we get better? Do we have the will to prepare to win? That’s the hard part.
And as Riley continued, “Let’s go beyond being the best. Let’s go so far that we leave our footprints!”
Together, as partners, we can do that for our athletes. Thank you again for your participation and support as we plan for another incredibly successful season.
