Ligety is Golden Again

February 2013

Today in Schladming, Austria, Ted Ligety claimed his third gold of this World Championships, in giant slalom. This feat makes Ted the first man to win three or more races in a single World Championships since Jean Claude Killy in 1968. He is also the first non-European ski racer to reach this incredible accomplishment.

In order to achieve this level of success, Ted has had one of the best teams in sport backing him every step of the way. The high performance services, world-class coaching staff and facilities like the Center of Excellence make all the difference for athletes like Ted. His ability to contend for these titles is thanks to the support we receive from our board, our sponsors, our suppliers and American fans.

Please join me today in celebrating Ted's victories. Everyone involved with the U.S. Ski Team should share in the celebration of this success today. Behind every great athlete is a team of great people. Thank you for your support and for choosing to "Believe in U.S." every step of the way.
