Why This Team Works

Team has long been one of the core values of the USSA. Over the past few years, the U.S. Ski Team has made great leaps in cross country skiing. This past season Kikkan Randall claimed her second consecutive World Cup sprint title. She and teammate Jessie Diggins earned the first-ever cross country gold medal for the United States at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. Many have asked about the secret weapon to the Team’s success.

Jessie Diggins addressed this recently in a blog on SkiTrax.com. She revealed that every team member has a role in making the Team Best in the World. The secret weapon of the U.S. Ski Team isn’t only great equipment and great training, but it’s also a special team chemistry and belief that they can be the best. From the wax technicians to the World Champion skiers, everyone is an equally valuable part of the Team.

I am proud to see our athletes taking the USSA’s Core Values to heart and seeing all of the great benefits that can come from working together towards Olympic success. To read Jessie’s blog, click here.
