George “Jory” Macomber
Head of School, USSA TEAM Academy
Vice President of Athlete Career and Education
Jory Macomber joined the leadership team at USSA in July of 2014 as the Head of School at USSA TEAM Academy and Vice President of Athlete Career and Education.
Previously, Jory worked as the Associate Head of School/Dean of Faculty, (2003-2011) and Acting Head of School (2013-2014) at Holderness School in Plymouth, NH. At Holderness he led the work of the administrative team, improved the faculty recruitment, hiring and retention matrix, increased responsibility for department chairs in conjunction with a more specific goal-driven evaluation program, increased the effective use of instructional technology, created new programs for humanities, honors thesis and advising, and refocused initiated a professional learning community model for teachers, coaches and dorm parents. His year as Head of School saw a record year in the school’s Annual Fund.
Jory has served as the Board Chair of Burke Mt. Academy. As a J3/U16 ski coach at Holderness School, three of Jory's athletes competed in the Topolino games, and six completed in the Whistler Cup. His athletes won 15 Junior Olympic medals over a 12 year span
Van Otterloo Chair Program, 2011-2012. Geneva, Switzerland.
· Analyzed global education initiatives.
· Performed NEASC accreditations and visited twenty international schools on four continents. Studied scholarly and professional works on the nature and future of global education. Presented findings at the TABS Global Symposium and NEASC conferences.

· Columbia University, Ed.M., 2005. Klingenstein Center program in Independent School Leadership.
· Brown University, MAT, 1991. Studied with the Coalition of Essential Schools.
· Dartmouth College, BA, cum laude 1985, Government Alpine Ski Team Captain and NCAA All-American, competing in North America and Europe. Won the Cardoza Award: given to the “outstanding member of the class.” .
Julie Glusker – Assistant Head of School
Julie is a lifelong advocate of education; her 25 years of experience include classroom teaching, academic/college advising, curriculum design, coaching, organizational consulting, strategic planning, cross-functional team building, and project management in private and non-profit arenas. She graduated from Dartmouth College (B.A. English, women’s lacrosse team), trained with Patrick Bassett (NAIS President), earned a M.A. from Middlebury College (Bread Loaf School of English), and taught English/writing and coached soccer, swimming and lacrosse at Hackley School and The Masters School (both in NY). In 2009, Julie founded Aptitude Academics, a provider of academic services for grades 6-12. Julie has lived in Park City with her family since 1997; she joined TEAM Academy in May of 2014.
Elaine Peterson – English and Writing Teacher
Elaine Peterson has been teaching English/Language Arts and writing for seventeen years. She is a graduate from Denison University. Elaine has been with TEAM Academy since its inception three years ago, and she enjoys working with and advising the Academy’s unique crew of student/athletes; she taught at Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Salt Lake City before accepting a position at the Academy. She and her family live a few miles outside of Park City.
Joe Rhodes – Math and Science Teacher
Joe grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Physics, and he spent eight years in the Marine Corps Reserve, including a tour of Iraq. Before coming to TEAM Academy, he taught Physics, Chemistry, and Science at Legacy Preparatory Academy in North Salt Lake. Joe now lives in Park City and joined the TEAM Academy in June of 2014.
